Distant Light
Spruce Knob has one of the darkest skies on the eastern coast of the United States. The location was ideal to capture all the images necessary to reveal the ephemeral luminance of the Milky Way galaxy's core during a total lunar eclipse in the summer of 2022. A rock reminiscent of the moon is joined by pinpricks of light from homes in the valley, glow in the clouds from distant cities, and millions of stars speckling the sky.
